Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin
Dear Berlin Fans in Berlin and Beyond!
The deed is done: yours truly decided it was time for her to jump onto the digital wave so successfully ridden by others.
As of today, you will have an opportunity to enjoy a walking tour of a fascinating neighbourhood, the old Kreuzberg SW61 or Tempelhofer Vorstadt, in my company. Or rather, in the company of my voice:-)
I took up on the offer from the excellent VoiceMaps to create an audio-tour based on my actual tour of one of the most interesting areas in central Berlin. Off the beaten track, which is, again, very successfully managed by other great Berlin tour guides.
If you would like to get to know places you might otherwise never be able to discover and hear the fascinating stories they are hiding, this is what you can do:
The system is based on GPS recognition so the comments will play automatically as you move. Or, alternatively, you might want to press “stop” or “play” or “pause” yourself. Choose whichever way suits you best.
I hope you will find the tour interesting and the even though the new method of input might seem a bit too modern for some of you (after all, not everyone enjoys e-books either), I am certain you will discover that this is one of the most pleasant ways of exploring Berlin almost on your own:-)
“Templars, Bunkers & Prussian Glory” is the first in a series of audio-tours I am planning to launch on this platform. Along the digital walks, I will also resume real-life tours of the less well-known corners of Berlin soon. So if you are planning to visit Berlin in 2017, we might be able to meet and take a Berlin walk together.
