Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

FLY BERLIN: ORVILLE GOES HIGHER

On September 18,1909 Orville Wright,  who like his brother Wilbur, flew their self-designed aircraft, Wright Model A biplane, beat the world altitude record at the airfield Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin.

At 172m Wright flew almost 20 metres higher than his French colleague, Hubert Latham, who set the world record of 155m only a month earlier.
