Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

Almost everyone in Berlin knows Kreuzberg’s Prinzessinnengarten: a community garden open to all those who are keen on planting and harvesting to their heart’s content but lack a private piece of land to do so.
At Prinzessinnengarten they will find just enough of it – mostly in a crate filled with soil. Or even in a bucket. The project has been thriving for the past seven years, attracting hundreds of nomadic gardeners – it has become the green heart of the area around Moritzplatz and is always a joy to visit.
Here is a map of urban gardening sites in Berlin which either beat or followed Prinzessinnengarten’s path. You might be interested in visiting some of them soon. The harvest has began: fresh radishes and thyme galore!
