Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

BERLIN PAST: THE LAZY SUNBATHERS FROM KADEWE

Berlin, Wittenbergplatz, KaDeWe Dachgarten, 1932. Fotograf unbekannt.

Because it is such a beautiful sunny day in Berlin today: sunbathers enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and the view from the top of the KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) in Tauentzienstraße in 1932. In the background, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Memorial Church whose ruins were preserved after WWII as a reminder of the destructive power of war.

Loving the Morrissey lyric reference in the title!
