Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin
For those of you, lucky lucky readers, who happen to be in Berlin today, on June 16: brilliant news!
If you look out of your window from more or less noon until late afternoon, you might spot a wonderful airship pass by in the sky above you: the Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht from Schleswig-Holstein sends a 75-metre long zeppelin to the Baltic Sea coast around the islands of Usedom and Bornholm to explore the sea´s and the coast´s condition in the region. The airship will be arriving in Berlin today from the legendary zeppelin wharf in Friedrichshafen at the Bodensee.
After a short stop-over at Schönefeld Airport, the machine will do a ground of honour over the city. So get your cameras ready, kids! It is not every day that you get to see a silent giant float past above your head:-)
