KREUZBERGED: BERLIN COMPANION

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

BACK TO THE PAST AND THEN BACK AGAIN

Berliner Morgenpost, our favourite local newspaper, did it again! Here is another chapter in the their absolutely unsurpassed visual chronicle of the city of Berlin.

This time it is about pre-WWII and today´s pictures of some of the most popular city spots taken during the last aerial photo-session of Berlin in August 2015: Potsdamer Platz, RAW Gelände in Friedrichshain (today, famous for its clubbing and crime scene), the historic Mitte you could read about on one of our recent posts, the village of Marzahn before it became the DDR high-rise estate, Reichstag as well as Museuminsel (the pre-WWII photo shows the historic Schloß Monbijou destroyed during the war).

A feast to any Berlin fan´s eye!

Please, click the image to enter and enjoy it:-)

Potsdamer Platz seen from above before 1924: in October that year the famous traffic lights were installed. The picture clearly shows why the lights were so badly needed.
