Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin
One of the most moving and most expressive sculptures which can be found in Berlin: “Mutter und Kind” by Theo Balden (real name: Otto Koehler).
Made by the artist in 1965 it shows a woman protecting her child against the danger coming from above – in 1965 the air-raids of WWII were still far from forgotten. And so were their victims.
You will find the sculpture in Berlin-Mitte in Klosterstraße 73a, next to the ruins of the bombed down monastery church of the Franciscan order (Franziskaner Klosterkirche).
