KREUZBERGED BERLIN

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

70 YEARS AFTER THE BATTLE OF BERLIN

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of one of the most bitter battles of modern times which took place inside the European cities and which brought an end to the six years of suffering on all sides of the conflict, Marcel Kruger, Robin Oomkes and myself wrote a text mentioning but three events that were part of the final “Kampf”.

The readers of this blog might recognise the story of the demise of Karstadt an Hermannplatz but we are certain that you will enjoy reading about it again as much as reading about the Battle of Seelow Heights and about the arrival of the Red Army troops in Berlin itself.
