KREUZBERGED BERLIN

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

YOU ARE HERE: BERLIN-MITTE IN 1931

Looking forward to much a balmy Wednesday (up to +18°C), here is a 1931 photo of two boys being served a cooling drink by a young street vendor in Berlin.

The group was most likely captured in Dorotheenstrasse in Berlin-Mitte: the restaurant-cum-inn “Zur Schildkröte” , managed and owned by one Kurt Miethke, was located at No. 70.

Any idea who the photographer is?

The name is not recorded – it was an image from the collection of the Scherl Verlag, a press publisher running their own big photo agency.
