KREUZBERGED BERLIN

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

RIDDLE ME THIS, RIDDLE ME THAT

This particular model, although not a “Cafe Achteck” is another Berlin WC classic.

This expanded version of a public lavatory, designed to accommodate 8 guests, was meant to provide relief to both gents and ladies for a change. Plus, the fact that it was equipped with proper toilet seats allowed both sexes to use them for both No. 1 and No. 2 (progress ahoi!)

According to the contract signed by the Firma Protz who produced the larger “Anstalten”, one cubicle had to be provided free of charge.

This particular establishment is still standing on its old spot but went through a 180°-degrees change of purpose. Do you know what it is today?
