KREUZBERGED BERLIN

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

THE 1924 POTSDAMER PLATZ TRAFFIC LIGHTS “LIVE”

The short film entitled “Berlin in the 20´s” published by Alfruna on YouTube is in fact a mix of very well known film recordings from the first quarter of the 20th century.

Here, for several seconds starting from the 1´5´´ frame you can see Potsdamer Platz and the “Verkehrsturm” on a regular Berlin day. But it is only a small fraction of the delights such films hold for anyone interested in the past of this city.

Enjoy it:-)

That certainly was a joy to watch. I will someday come to Berlin, but will never be able to see it through the eyes of the people in that sweet video since the war changed it forever. Thank you for sharing!

You definitely should come:-) and you’ll be surprised how much of the old Berlin is in fact still there – it’s simply more difficult to see.
