Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin
Here´s the path at Landwehrkanal running along the dead “arm” of Brachvogelstrasse in the direction of Waterloo Brücke.
It was only after the WW2 that this small section of the canal embankment became a pretty much forgotten little passage. Until then it was part of the old Waterloo Ufer and was lined with rather elegant, typical Berlin “Gründerzeit” houses.
Their ruins, as well as the still standing houses, were removed to make space for the low blocks of flats stretching today between Johanniter-, Brachvogel- and Zossener Strasse.
