KREUZBERGED BERLIN

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

ONCE A POLE, ALWAYS A POLE – 25 YEARS OF POLAND´S DEMOCRACY

It´s been 25 years since that Poland I was born in disappeared for ever. Do I miss it? Of course – who doesn´t miss Home. Would I like to go back there? Why do you think I married a German?:-)

Here´s a short summary of those 25 years between today and 1989 shown through the things that are considered to make the country special in 2014.

Whatever was before that, however, was my life, too.

The history of Germany and Poland are forever entwined. Even before the two countries existed Slavic and Germanic people often lived in the same area. The names of many places attest to that.

I don’t think the people had any problems with that. It were the ruling classes that fomented enmity, because they were greedy and wanted to increase the ownership of land.

I’m happy that many of the issues that divided both people have been solved in the united Europe.

25 things we love about Poland! I looked at all the 25 things and am very impressed. It looks to me that there is a lot to love about Poland and it would be well worth a visit.
I am so impressed that I very much like to reblog it.
