KREUZBERGED: BERLIN COMPANION

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

IN BLÜCHERSTRASSE FILM ATELIER IN 1908

What a lovely find! Here is a photo of Oskar Messter´s director Carl Froehlich filming Regimentstochter in Blücherstrasse film atelier in 1908. Oskar Messter is the second gentleman from the left, leaning against the sound equipment.

The film crew and the actors are standing on the famous Blücherstrasse Schwebebühne (a suspended platform used a stage) – its remains can be seen in the aikido dojo of Jean-Marie Milleville occupying the rooms these days.
