KREUZBERGED BERLIN

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

PAST PRESENT: OBERBAUMSTRASSE TO SCHLESISCHES TOR

Here are some historic images of the area covered in the previous post UP AND AWAY: U1. A little trip with the U1 as time machine.

All three images are from the 1947 film Irgendwo in Berlin.

All courtesy of rauter25 on Flickr.

Oberbaumbrücke in 1947 seen from Gröbenufer (today May-Ayim-Ufer)

Schlesisches Tor Station seen from Bevernstrasse (the tram is about to enter Schlesische Strasse, the lorry is coming out of Köpenicker Strasse)

On the corner of Bevern- and Oberbaumstrasse in front of today´s “Oberbaum Eck” pub (the U1 viaduct well visible in the background)
