KREUZBERGED: BERLIN COMPANION

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

FREILIGRATHSTRASSE 1: 1906 AND TODAY

In the last-but-one post from the Today in Kreuzberg series you could read about Konrad Biesalski´s first professional (medical) clinic for disabled children, opened in Freiligrathstrasse 1 in Kreuzberg.

Here is the same house in two images: between the two stand 106 years of Berlin´s history.

Krüppel- Heil- und Erziehungsanstalt, Freiligrathstrasse 1 (1 floor: on the balcony left a nurse and a small patient are standing)

Freiligrathstrasse today, Biesalski´s old surgery houses two flats today while the original pub/restaurant on the corner of the building was turned into a small kindergarden a couple of years ago
