KREUZBERGED: BERLIN COMPANION

Everything You Never Knew You Wanted to Know About Berlin

SPOTTED IN PASSING: DUSK IN THE CITY

The name of my favourite time of the day happens to be just as beautiful as the time itself: the blue hour or l’heure bleue is this magical moment between the light and the darkness that greets you every morning (if you are lucky enough to get up or if you are unlucky enough to have others make sure that you do) and sees the day fade away at dusk.

Here are some photos taken during the blue hour in Kreuzberg (they are a bit grainy – it was only a small camera that I had on me).

And the next post contains a song by the most Kreuzbergian singer and band of them all, Peter Foxx of The Seeed – Schwarz zu Blau. The dawn in Kreuzberg.

von schwarz nach blau sagt Peter Fox

the best time of the day)) Being an early bird myself, I can assure you that these moments are even more spectacular when waking up in the ski hut up in the mountains!! Standing out there, holding a steaming cup of coffee, silence, standstill….

I am lucky enough to see the dawn in Kreuzberg as well, honey:) Unlucky enough to be woken up to do so but clearly every cloud has a silver lining, non?:) Let´s have an early cuppa while the summer lasts – 4.45 tomorrow?

Beautiful images. I don’t think many Berliners see their city this way. Its is a pity really.

Thank you. I am lucky in having a roof-top I can climb onto to enjoy the view. And I can leave the house now and then after dinner:) With three small boys in tow not an easy feat.
