Cute! Happy New Year.
Happy New Year, Karen!
Dear NotMsParker
I am the editor of Siegfried’s Journal, the bi-annual publication of the Siegfried Sassoon Fellowship, dedicated to writing about the life, work and times of the WWI poet Siegfried Sassoon. May I reproduce, on the cover of the first volume for 2013, your pictures of George V and Nikolai II, and of the Kaiser and Nikolai II on the way from the station? I would, of course, acknowledge your site (and I have signed up for the blog) and make any other acknowledgments necessary.
Yours ever
Meg Crane
Hi, Meg! I would be very pleased to see the photos on the cover of your magazine, however, it is not in my power to consent to their use. You´d have to find out whom owns the copyright for them and ask for their permission. My blog is a non-profit, non-commercial and 100%-amateur enterprise and as such I sometimes rely on the good will of others not to sue me for presenting an image they in fact own:-) And the rules for private non-commercial blogs are different. Hope you can find a way. Greetings from Berlin-Kreuzberg!
Thank you! May I ask where you found the photos? That may be where I have to start looking for the copyright.
Our organisation is non-profit-making too – in fact we are a registered charity – but obviously I’d rather keep things legal.
Meg
